Official Solius product, installed and covered by LEFE.The choice starts with the power (in BTU or kW) appropriate to the space: as a rule of thumb, count around 350-450 BTU per m² in a typical Portuguese room (a 20 m² room requires a 9,000 BTU unit), adjusting upwards if there is a high ceiling, a top floor under the roof, a lot of sun exposure or large glazing. Oversizing uses more and makes it worse; undersizing forces the device to always work at maximum. During the technical visit, LEFE calculates the real power for your case.
If you want to air condition a single room, a monosplit (one indoor + one outdoor unit) is the most efficient and economical. For several rooms, a multisplit connects 2 to 5 indoor units to a single outdoor unit, saving space on the façade. Always look for Inverter technology (regulates power and reduces consumption), good energy label (SEER/SCOP), R32 gas (more environmentally friendly) and, if useful, Wi-Fi/app control.
A good inverter air conditioner does not only cool down in summer. It heats in winter much more efficiently than an electric heater, being an air conditioning solution for the whole year. Certified installation (fluorinated gases) is essential for the warranty, efficiency and legality of the equipment.
