The second phase of the Efficiency Voucher program continues to help Portuguese residents improve the energy efficiency of their homes. Vouchers of up to €1,300 are available, with each eligible recipient able to receive up to three vouchers.
The second phase of the Efficiency Voucher program is now available to help Portuguese citizens improve the energy efficiency of their homes. The program, developed by the Environmental Fund, provides efficiency vouchers worth €1,300 plus VAT, covering equipment, labor, materials, and installation.
It is a support program designed to combat energy poverty by improving comfort and energy efficiency in homes. Each voucher provides access to energy efficiency solutions without the immediate full cost, as certified installers, such as LEFE, are reimbursed directly by the Environmental Fund.
To apply, you must be a holder of a social electricity rate or a recipient of subsidized bottled gas. Also eligible are recipients of:
Applicants must be owners, usufructuaries, or tenants of the dwelling and reside there permanently.
Each beneficiary can access up to 3 vouchers in total, with a maximum value of €3,900, allowing for significant energy efficiency improvements without an immediate impact on the household budget.
Applications opened on November 20, 2023, and are scheduled to close on October 31, 2024, or when the vouchers run out. Upon approval, beneficiaries had 90 business days to complete the work.
